Author Mentoring

Are you ready to get that book out of your head, and into the world?

Whenever I tell someone that I help people self-publish books, what I hear most is, “I've always wanted to write a book”, or “I have a story that will make a great book, but I don't know how to write it.” I offer suggestions and tips to get it done, but some of those people never get their story published, and they never touch the people they were supposed to touch with their book.
I get it, writing a book is hard and it takes time, time some think they don't have. Some people just need a little more hand-holding, a little more help. There are dozens of questions that need to be answered on the way to becoming an author. One of the biggest mistakes writers make is waiting too long to seek help. If an inexperienced writer doesn’t have someone to guide them through the roadblocks, he or she can get overwhelmed and talk themselves out of completing the task. Sometimes all it takes is a little support and hand-holding to get that book out of them and published. This is where mentoring comes in.
As your book coach, I not only become your mentor, I partner with you for your success. I become your sounding board, your consultant, your intercessor, your dream supporter and your cheerleader and even a shoulder to cry on if need be. I'll offer you guidance, accountability, and structure. You'll have a partner who is committed to your success. I’ll celebrate with you when you reach milestones and help you when you stumble or get off track. With your commitment and action, and following through with the book writing mentoring sessions, there’s no reason why you can’t get your book done within 6 months or at least one year. And when you’re writing your book, I can help you truly self-publish your book with my basic service package.

How it works:
Again, I only work with people who truly want to get their book written and I can only take a few students per month. To get started you will need to submit an application. I’ll review your work, and we'll schedule a 30-minute Breakthrough Session to a get a feel for each other and plan to move forward.
During the program, we will have a 60-minute one-on-one mentoring session once a week for 6, 9, or 12 months (your choice), so we can review your progress, talk about how this writing period was for you, what is working well and any areas you feel a little stuck in. I can answer your questions, offer feedback, address any issues or challenges, and set additional goals for the next call. The goal is to do as many pages per month as you can, but at least 1K words every week is suggested. This will help you hold yourself accountable, and help you continue moving forward. It is possible to have your book completed in a few months.
I will be available by email in between calls if you have a question or feel stuck on anything. I will respond promptly, or I may even call. I will send you weekly tips to encourage you to keep moving. I’m here to help you through your writing journey, so don’t hesitate to reach out! Although the focus of our calls will be on the writing process, we can also take some time to focus on building your author platform, the platform for your book, and to talk about how you can prime your audience to receive your book.
Mentoring sessions are conducted by phone.
Cost: $35 per session (must be paid before your session).
