Book Editing Services
Fast, Affordable and a Must Before Publishing!

As an author I know that writers are often too close to their work to proofread effectively and spot even the most elementary mistakes and inconsistencies. Hiring an experienced book editor is the best investment you can make for your book. Grammar errors come across as sloppy and unprofessional. If you are submitting your manuscript to a publisher or agent, or you are self-publishing a book you need a professional book editor who has eagle eyes to spot and correct errors in your book.
No book is perfect, but professional editorial assistance can help you get a lot closer. I want you and your work to shine. If your book contains garbled grammar and unrefined language readers will be turned-off and unimpressed. Your reputation as a writer will suffer. The goal here at WDP is to help ensure your copy presents as professional as possible. You retain complete creative control over your manuscript. I edit Microsoft Word documents using track changes, so all our changes are clearly visible. This allows you to accept, reject, or modify them. If you are looking for an affordable, experienced editor I've got you covered.

Our Editing Services
Proofreading/Light Editing is the final stage of editing before it goes to print. Proofreading should be done when your book is in its final form—in the environment in which your reader will read it. At WDP we only proofread documents that have already been professionally edited. In proofreading, I look for the smaller things that have slipped through previous stages of editing such as language and formatting errors, missing words, typos, punctuation errors, spelling and formatting inconsistencies. You don’t want to be rewriting or shuffling sentences around at the proofreading stage as it will disturb the layout of your book. Because proofreading is done in the final stage before printing you will also want to add my formatting service. Copyediting/Line Editing is a more intensive structural edit that focuses on the flow of ideas, transition elements, tone, and style. I also check the content for factual errors, contradictions, and inconsistencies, and repetition as well as Bible verses to ensure they are correct, and I check for potential legal liability to help ensure your manuscript does not libel others. Developmental/Substantial editing is a thorough and in-depth edit of your entire manuscript. This will often include everything that’s involved in proofreading and copy-editing, plus a detailed critique of the essential elements of the story which can include overall structure and style. It can address plot holes or gaps, challenging characterization and all other existing material. Developmental editing is so in depth it can lead to major changes in a book. It can sometimes verge on ghostwriting. But, in the end, it’s all worth it. |
