My name is Angeline Williams, and I am the owner of Williams DocuPrep. I began working in the printing and publishing industry in 1980 at a small newspaper company in Miami, Florida, where I worked as a typesetter, layout artist, and proofreader. From there, I continued gaining experience through newspapers, magazine publishers, and printing companies.
For many years, I carried the desire to start my own business. In 1993, while I was working for a printing company during the day, one of the customers asked me if I wanted to own my own business. I said yes.
He asked for my phone number and address. I was skeptical about sharing that information, but I felt led to do it. A few days later, he called and told me to come outside because he had something for me. When I came out, he opened his trunk and showed me a computer, a laser printer, and a fax machine.
Then he said, “You are now in business, and I am your first client.”
I was shocked.
God had used him to answer a prayer and give me the desire of my heart. From there, I would come home in the evenings and work on documents for my clients. I typeset and designed materials for funeral homes, printing companies, ministers, and authors who were writing books, manuals, devotionals, and other materials they wanted professionally prepared and printed.
Before long, I began receiving calls from people who wanted to publish books. As I spoke with authors, I discovered that many had paid thousands of dollars to self-publish their books and had been taken advantage of. Some were tied into contracts that gave away a large portion of their book earnings, and in some cases, even certain rights to their work.
My heart went out to them. So I prayed and asked God to send me the people He had given a message to; the ones He wanted to publish books. And He did.
For me, Williams DocuPrep is more than a business. It is a ministry assignment. My vision is to help Christian and inspirational authors, speakers, ministers, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and first-time authors turn their God-given message into a professionally prepared book without paying thousands of dollars or giving away unnecessary rights and profits.
I believe books can edify, equip, encourage, teach, testify, and point people back to the Lord. I believe many people are carrying messages, testimonies, teachings, stories, and wisdom that are meant to reach beyond their own circle. Sometimes they simply need help bringing it all together with clarity, structure, and excellence.
